Butterfly......

The sight of a fluttering butterfly can be a joyful experience. To some people and to a bunch of kids, it is not just an insect. A flying butterfly excites them. They find their beautiful and colourful wings truly amazing.
For Abby, the up-and-coming naïve painter, a butterfly reflects inner beauty. Small from the outset buts its transformation from the cocoon can be pretty challenging. Exploring the world of flowers “excites the care-free butterfly”. She is ready and eager to be what she desires to be as she aptly puts it.
Meet Abby, an artist who is as fascinating as the butterfly, started her new-found career in naïve painting. Her designs have gone as far as T-shirt paintings, wedding invitation cards and mug painting. Stone painting is a popular activity among the younger children. She is a kindergarten teacher but an artist at heart.
The petitite Abby hails from Perak. The modest Batu Gajah girl has certainly come a long way. She started painting in her mid-thirties and having three wonderful children had not deterred her to achieve her dream. Her first art show in 2003 held at Balai Seni Lukis Negara at Laman Seni was a very bold step towards her independence.
At the same time, she instilled the love and colours through mug and stone painting activities. A big welcome and a great joy for children to exercise their creativity.
